I just realised, in my previous two entry, I mentioned the SI contestants doing a Hip Hop number. Walhal padahal it's R&B ok. Awing asal boleh lah Winggg...
Didja see Hady MirzA(win) in a hat? Didja?? DIDJA??? Not as good-looking as Taufik, I feel. Then again, Taufik is a mat. I don't think Hady is a mat. Dia macam abang-abang relek jack.
On Tuesday, I took leave to hooray-hooray. I felt I need a tiny break. And since Yan has been footing the bills whenever we go out, I felt that I should at least give him a treat now and then. Afterall, I'm the one gainfully employed and he's the one gainfully studying. I should pick up the tab too, I feel (chey).
So we started off the day with lunch at Mad Jack, this place I saw at Suria Segar (yes, on Sunday mornings, I join the makcik-makciks of Singapore to watch Suria Segar). He drove there and I felt like quite the tai-tai... Going for a lazy, early lunch on a weekday. Macam tai-tai, yes?
The food looked promising in the brochures. When the food arrived, they looked even more promising. But they taste quite disappointing. My grilled salmon still has scales on the skin.
Scales, yo. I find this disconcerting, because when I make my own pan-fried salmon at home, I make sure that my salmon are always clean and scales-free. Always. Because I like the fried, crispy bit of the skin and it was really not a wonderful feeling when you bit into a morsel of salmon and skin and felt sharp
scaly scales in your mouth.
Not nice, I tell ya.
Yan's lamb-chop was quite disappointing too. Some parts were well-done, some parts raw. Not consistent. I can cook better gourmet food than that. But we both dig the cheese fries so it's all good. But we're gonna give it one more shot and gonna order the Fish & Chips next time.
Caught Ghost Game at Cineleisure. EH SERAM NAK MAMPOS LAH SEOULS THAT MOVIE!!! I was trying to cover my ears because my cousin once told me that the sound of a scary movie is actually the factor that makes it scary and I thought she's right. But Yan just wouldn't let me have any of it and he held my wrists the whole time just so I can't cover my ears *glares at Yan*
I swear the Thais can make scary shit on celluloid.
Then we went to Harbour Front to eat at Breeks. I ordered some pan-grilled dory with Mojo sauce and he ordered slow roasted chicken in rosemary sauce. That was a huge-ass chicken, dude. He couldn't finish it. And if Yan can't finish his food, it means the serving is really huge and/or the food is gross.
So I was enjoying my dory. Now let me bring you to how I like to eat my food. I like to apportion my food until the last bite. Like, if I eat dory fish, spaghetti and garden vegetables right, I like to divide them into equal number of bites so I end up with the last bite of a tiny bit of dory, a tiny bit of spaghetti and a tiny bit of vege. Capishe?
So I had my food nicely apportioned.
When I got to the last few slices of dory, I found that it was not thoroughly grilled! Wah aku dah bingit ni... The chef ruined my eating plan! I can't stomach the unfairness of it all! I discovered with horror that I actually ate the last piece of edible dory without knowing it's the last piece!
So when I asked for the bill, I told the manager "Hi, I'd like to give you some feedback. The dory is not grilled thoroughly. See this? Yah? Still raw. If it's salmon, I'd eat it raw. But nobody eats raw dory now, right?" (Being bitchy and all but I don't care. They deprived me of my last bite. And I can't help it if I have atas expectations. That day was my Queen E moment.)
"Oh... Ok. Thanks for your feedback. I'll inform the chef. Sorry about that."
"Sure, no problem. I thought I'd let you know."
I was polite though. My tone was even and quite friendly for someone who was served with raw dory. When he brought over the bill, I asked "So do we get a discount?? A complimentary desert, perhaps?"
EH TANPA SEGAN SILU NYER EH AKU TANYA. Hurhur. Dengan muka
sarden aku tanya, and worst, I
expected it from him. And lucky for him, he gave us a 10% discount. Because if he didn't, I 'd turned nasty. But thumbs up to the manager for his diligence and attentiveness, albeit his accent which can get really get on my nerves.
Yan said "Awiiiinnn... Kau eh... Kemut!" Or is the word 'kemput'? I don't know lah. Some kemput-kempit word.
Hurhur. Long live the Kemput Queen!
