I hate the feeling of unease when I'm out of the country yet the thought of work is constantly at the back of my head.
It's not fair.
Anyway, can't wait for my short getaway tomorrow. I'm not feeling like on top of the world exactly but this'll do.
When you think about it right, work will never finish.

Vietnam Yes No Maybe?

Friday, May 15, 2009

At 4.30 p.m. today, it was discovered that the full-day hearing on Tuesday is vacated and the new date would be in JULY!!!
I would have spoken French here if I could but the implication of it might cause some problem in future so I'll hold my tongue.
[insert favourite French aka swear words here]
If you don't know what I'm getting at, read my entry on Saigone (or something) below. Where I was very angry with the fact I couldn't go to Vietnam with my cousins and her friends.
SO it seems that I can go afterall. BUT, how the hell could I do it when I have such short notice and I haven't packed, have not a big enough backpack, no proper shoes, don't know what to bring, what to buy, HAVEN'T CHANGE CURRENCY DONG DONG BETUL SEH. Dong is the Vietnamese currency by the way hurhur.
Oh but on a whim, I ran to Arcade to change SGD150 to some Dongs, without even being sure if I'm going. Just go with the flow, you know? Right now, my stuffs at work are more or less done (I think) and all that is left is to go online and get the damn ticket, which frankly I don't know why I still have not gotten around to doing it. Maybe cos I'm a bit worried about work. A bit only lah. Not enough to stop me from going though.
Still procrastinating.
Wah ni kalau aku betul jadi pergi, this is like my super ultimate spur of the moment nyer decision ni. Takder planning takder ke haper tiba-tiba jer last kopek nak pergi. Ni nama nya, punkrock. Haa korang dah lama tak dengar itu word punkrock kan. Hurhur.
If I decide to go, I'd have to pay $225 for the flight when I could have paid only $160 before. And best part is, I had a premonition you know. I was thinking to myself, 'wouldn't it be great if the Court comes back like a week before the hearing with a vacated hearing' and then 'nah wouldn't happen' and all this while, I had this feeling that somehow, the hearing won't happen. Vietnam was always somewhere there at the back of my head. I swear I have ESPn lah ok. Don't doubt me when I say I have it. I know when I'm being lied to too. If I were to be a character from the Twilight series, I'd be Alice. Hurhur.
Ok still procrastinating.
I should be getting online and buy the damn ticket already. I have a backpack but don't think it's big enough. The plan is for Yan to help me pick it up from a friend's place but guess what, he's still not done with shooting and he's not picking up the phone. I'm all alone in the office on Friday night lah Bedah. Seram dan stress.
Ni kalau aku jadi pergi kan, I would be so happy I won't believe it.
Ok enough, Yan just called to pick me up in 10 mins. So I better buy NOW. Pantat.

Sigh, gone (Saigon)

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

Hurhur, am I witty or what, my subject title.
I'm so angry and so upset, I could kill the next person who gets on my case.
The plan was to go backpacking with my cousins and their friends in Vietnam for 5 days. How cool and exciting is that right? I know. I've been wanting to backpack to Vietnam for the longest time lah... I don't know why. I just wanna. And it must be Vietnam. Not other cities. Vietnam first. A guy friend backpacked there alone last year and I was so awed. I would follow him if I could but that would be so wrong lor.
So anyway, you can probably guess my excitement when I discovered that my cousins are backpacking to Vietnam. Shireen is gonna go to Thailand, then Cambodia (another place I wanna go) and last leg of the backpacking trip is going to be Vietnam. So the plan is me, my 2 cousins and a couple of other people are joining Shireen and her friends at Ho Chi Minh.
There would be 8 of us and it would so fun! BUT. This is where I stop talking about fun and start crying in the girls' toilet just now.
There is a full day hearing on the 19th and I asked my FB if I could go on leave. And she said I have to check with my colleague cos they would need someone to be around for the hearing. So I checked with this colleague and she said she's taking leave on 18th and 19th May.
I WANTED TO SCREAM! She said it's her kids exam week and she need to be at home to coach them. Ok I know I have no right to judge but look, last minute revision can help meh. And not say I wanna be mean but right, her kids are gonna do badly/not-so-well anyway so why the hell does she bother. This is a very nasty remark from me, I know. But I've heard her complained enough on how bad her kids' school work are and how they get less than average marks on their test etc so is it any surprise why I am so bitter about this? Because she's gonna take leave and supposedly coach her kids but they're gonna do badly anyway, you get my drift? Then what's the point!
And you know what pisses me off the most? She asked me why I'm asking her about the leave so I told her that there's a full-day hearing on the 19th for this matter that both our bosses are on. And you know her reply?? "Huh then why you ask me? I'm not involved in [clients' name] what..." EH KNN not involved kepala waklu lah! Dengan sarden nyer dia kata dia tak involved! Tu yang buat darah aku UP banyak ni...
I've been doing alot for this matter. I've co-ordinated some project stuff that she doesn't even help with the co-ordination and this is taking into account that she's an executive, you know. I've been working until I fall sick for a week and couldn't take MC and I don't even deserve 3 stupid days? Wtf is this. I sell my soul to work lah fuck, understand.
And this rubbish about how single people should give way to married-with-kids colleagues? Utter rubbish. Like as if I don't have a family of my own; as if I don't have agendas of my own. It really is very frustrating.
You don't know how badly I wanna go on this trip. It's painful.

I left my soul in Seoul

Thursday, December 18, 2008

Seoul is cold. Very cold.
I occasionally get like, cold spastic spasms (if there is such a thing).
We went to Nami Island today. If you are not aware, that's where Winter Sonata was shot. Winter Sonata was the start of the Korean drama craze and the lead actor Bae Yong Joon was the original auntie killer. Sungguh tak hensem sangat but auntie killer nonetheless. Nami Island is beautiful! Korea has got alot of places to paktor you know! No wonder the guys here are so loving and affectionate! So many places to bring their girlfriends to! I lost count of how many girls I saw holding a bouquet of flowers in one hand and their oppa's hand in the other. Sigh sigh sigh.
I think ah, I want to stop blogging here lah. I think there are dubious people reading my blog. But then, I've been saying this for a very long time now and whimsical flights of fancy is still around right? It has weathered crazy people and comments. Maybe later.
I bought a shitload of stuffs (but still pretty measly compared to Ley and Ratna) and I was so stressed cos I don't have space to put them but now I do! I bought a kembes bag for 5,000 won. Everytime I go somewhere, I end up buying a kembes bag to put in my shopping. Rumah aku ada beribu bag kembes yang bermacam-macam gaya eh~ Dah boleh bukak kedai kembes hurhur...
Ok I wanna shit and I better stop the Ley and the Ratna from watching too much of their Korean variety you-tubes.

Jangan bukan-bukan at Busan

Sunday, December 14, 2008

Hi again.

We're already at Busan, and good thing is, we don't have to go to a PC Bang cos we have internet and PCs right here in the hotel!! They have FOUR PCs. AMPAT, kau! Berbaloi kan. Tak sia-sia jer bayar extra pasal tukar-tukar hotel. And then right, right under our hotel is a departmental store, plus our hotel is situated smack in the middle of some shopping district! Dia macam, ala-ala Far East meets Bugis market.

Abis tu kan, we were so hungry cos we have not had a proper meal like rice and dishes (we've been stuffing our faces with nonsense food like instant noodles and bread and tuna and biscuits and chocolates) so we hunted the ala-ala Bugis market and found a place that sells seafood! So we pandai-pandai order steamed fish and broiled eel and sotong and HA-KAU, our table was filled with all these side dishes like leaves and kimchi and wasabe and mussels. So we didn't know how to eat these things right? Then came this ahjummah and she took a leaf, took a seasoned eel, some sprigs of spring onion, kimchi, wrapped it up tightly, dipped it in chilli and stuffed it into Ley's mouth!! Like, literally stuff it into her mouth ok! Entah tangan dia cuci ke tidak seh. Mana tau baru abis cebok-cebok ke... Baru abis lap peluh ke... Abeh the Ley pong main sebat jer tu daun. Hurhur. Oh and then right, this ahjummah is so tak tau malu one. She feed us, then use the same chopsticks to feed herself. Feed us, then feed herself. Tanpa segan silu eh sila~ Sendiri masak, sendiri makan.

Oh and then in Korea right, they have sambal belachan also. Looks exactly the same, except for the limau nipis. And the people in the restaurant were so amused with us that the ahjushi next to our table belanja kita DUA BOTOL AIR COCA-COLA!!! Dia kata, "service". Apparently, if the people in Korea wants to give us free things, they call it "service". Hurhur lain macaammm jer word "service" tu. I can't help but think dirty whenever "service" comes up. In fact, before this "service" from the ahjushi, we got another "service" in the form of 2 free packs of wet towels from Family Mart in Jeju. I think they like us. Ok maybe they like Ley and Ratna cos they wear tudung. The Koreans seem so intrigued with them that I feel so left out! Maybe I should wear the tudung for the next few days just so that I can feel ala-ala exotic. HURHUR.

We are having so much fun here. Our first day in Busan was definitely awesome. I like doing random stuffs and going to places that we normally would not in Singapore. Like the snooker place yesterday. Tu dodgy maha dodgy ok. Alot of smoking men looking all grudge and here we have 3 Malay girls mana peh step nak main snooker pahahaha... Yor-yor orh lah korang ni.

Oh and I had a scare this morning on the flight to Busan, you know. While checking in, I placed my handphone in the basket to go under the scan. And I left with my bag, coat and jeju marmalade but left my handphone in the basket! While in the plane, I remembered about my handphone and turned my bag inside out and dengan muka panic asked the stewardess to help me look for my missing handphone. I think we were just minutes away from taking off.

Nonetheless, they found my handphone. I think it was because it was a Samsung and they probably feel that it's not worth selling cos it was peeling at the side all.

I so poor thing, you know. Cos on the first day, the zip on my luggage went bonkers and I had to buy a new luggage. I have alot of nonsense on my own to deal with. And let's not even start on the climb to Mt Halla. I wanted to die! So unfit, so cold, have not fully recovered from my flu and cough AND the icing on the cake? I twisted my ankle while climbing up! So I only covered about 1/4 of the way up and had to go down alone, with people staring at me cos I look so different from them.

And I'm in my tank top and pants and Ley turned on her iPod, alahh... Buat macam rumah sendiri gitu. It's our fifth day tomorrow. We're left with 7 more days, and I'm sure the people at work are missing me but for reasons like, "why the hell do I have to do Farzuin's work when I have alot of my own!" I feel quite bad for having to take 8 days leave from work but this was planned like, in August or something. Oh well. I just have to buy lots of stuffs back for them.

I haven't even finished this vacation and I'm already thinking of where to go next, which shouldn't be the case since I should be saving money in these times but oh! It's so tempting!

The wonderlust is itching to go to Europe next!

(Bebual macam banyak duit jer deni).

Greetings from Jeju~!

Saturday, December 13, 2008

Hello! Greetings from the Jeju Island!
This place is freaking cold or what!
I'm at a dodgy internet cafe in Jeju with the Ley and the Ratna. We are safe, all in one piece. You know why I said that? Cos Ley drove for 2 days! Hurhur. Ok she wasn't all that bad, just a little nervous. And understandably so cos the cab drivers here all pretend to be Lewis Hamilton! We have a GPS system in our white Laceti (all the cars here are white by the way), and it would have been perfect has it not been in Korean! So kita pandai-pandai lah eh pakai GPS in Korean and we survived. I was appointed co-pilot and I don't think I did all that bad hurhur...
We ran into a little misadventure but I think the One above was looking after us cos help came in a form of an ahjushi and his son. Bless them.
We will be flying off to Busan tomorrow for another 3 days, hopefully there are internet cafes there too (they call them PCbang here, as in "Bang, angkatkan kain baju, bang..." Hurhur...
I wish I could bring back some Jeju oranges back to Singapore but it's gonna be a hassle lor... So heavy all.
Ok until next one!

Oh Man, Seok! / Bali

Saturday, November 08, 2008

Hello, world! Miss me??
Sorry, I've been busy.

I've been busy with him.

Oh Man-Seok. Oh man, is this one hot oppa. He may not be as hot as Gong Yoo but he has a kind face. I like a guy with a kind face.

I feel like I'm cheating on Gong Yoo you know, because I have a new infatuation. Something like, I'm cheating on Gong Yoo while he's busy bursting his ass off driving the war tank all the way at some border in Korea. But but... I can't help it. This is one is too hot to be ignored!

He acted in The Man in the Vineyard or Vineyard Man and it's confirmed - I like guys who are not fair, and are very good with their hands! Ala-ala pekebun ke... Plumber ke... Mekanik ke.. Hurhur.

That's not saying I wanna marry a farmer or a plumber lah, you know. Just someone who is very good with their hands other than their day job. A guy who can fix leaking pipes (I think we've gone through this before) and change the lightbulb. And I have this fixation with guys' arms. I like a pair of tan, strong and nice-looking arms. Not too much hair cos then you can't see the shape of the muscles and veins. You know what I mean. Hurhur.

I realise also that I like my Korean men to be a bit tan and not the fair variety. Cheydebah variety eh. Bebual pasal Korean guys macam bebual pasal kuih. So they're Korean right, but they must be a bit tan like a Malay boy Hurhur. Oh and they must have eyes that speak volumes! Like you know Jake Gyllenhaal? Ok I like guys with eyes like him. Macam muka kesian. The kinda eyes that make you want to take care of him for the rest of your live. Hurhur ok I'll stop now. I got carried away. (But here's an example teehee).

Anyway, I've finished watching the series and the high is enough to last me a few more days. Sometimes, I smile like a psycho in the train when I play back the scenes in my head :)

Here's some very belated pictures from my team trip to Bali in July. He may not be reading this but thanks to my team Director for bringing all 13 of us on a short vacation. Again! Again!

Breakfast. Runny yolks ~mmmMMm~

Eileen and I in our big-ass villa pool. If you intend to stay in Bali for a vacation, try Ulin Villas and Spa. Sungguh memuaskan. Very the love.

The team girls gallivanting in the pool. It's so weird seeing the people I work with in their bikinis. Heh. But it was fun.

Mamat Bali with hot body who has a crush on Eileen. We were at Nusa Dua playing water sports and getting hit on by mamats Bali. When one of them asked for my email address (hasn't he heard of telephone numbers?), I wanted to give him my director's. And he asked my team leader if she is from India, because she is Indian! Wth. When she said "No, I'm from Singapore", he asked again: "Oh so you original ah?" Eh no ah. Bbq flavour, Hot & Spicy flavour. Hurhur.

The team girls at Jimbaran Bay for seafood dinner!

Sunset Paradise. Wish I am there.

Will you still love me, tomorrow?

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

You know you're addicted to dvds when you're watching something on Channel 5 and you reached for the remote control to rewind what you've just heard on the news -___-
So many things are going through my head yarr... I'm so tired of it. So draining.
I wanna go for a short holiday before my kick-ass long one end December. I'm so greedy. But seeing that I only have 8.5days of leave left, that's just wishful thinking.
But I want to... By hook or by crook.

My Korean Fantasy

Monday, July 21, 2008

HELLO ok last night, I slept late - about 3.30 a.m. cos I was up watching Coffee Prince.
Why hello there, who is that hot Korean actor!
Ok I don't know his name - must be either Woon, Jae, Cha or Yuk - but he has that subtle cute looks lah ok. Cos if he had been any cuter, I'd probably wouldn't like him anyway cos if you know me, you'd probably know that I don't like super good looks cos I like a bit of imperfections and flaws, so yeah eh hot lah eh.
Then today, I called Yan up and said "Yan, I wanna have a Korean boyfriend..." And he answered "Okay. GO ah. I also want to have Korean girlfriend." And I answered "Eh how can! You don't watch Korean dramas, so jangan nak step want to have Korean girlfriend." To which he answered, "Ok fine. Then I'll have a Malay girlfriend." And I said "No you can't! Cos you already have a Malay girlfriend. ME!" So then he said "Ok well then I'll have more Malay girlfriends, maybe from Suria. Cos if you want to have Korean actor as boyfriend, then I'll have Suria girlfriend!"
EH MAMAT WRONG ANSWER EH SILA!
Wah wah wah ni part aku macam dah bingit-bingit sikit ni, pasalkan Suria girlfriend is a little closer to home than Korean boyfriends, and also cos he works in a production house with all the Malay actresses, so apa lagi aku membebel ah kat situ hurhur... Nak cari gaduh abeh bingit eh. Ah ok never mind. I forgive him. Because I have Coffee Prince to look forward to every evening.
Oh anyway CONGRATULATIONS TO MAIRA!!
Wow so many of my girlfriends are married/getting married/have babies. Let's see...
There's Suhana with a son. There's Suhailah and the son. Then Farena and Maira are married. And Rohaya will be getting hitched soon next February and Nurah next June. Eh semua dah besar lah!
Cuma Awin, Jila, Eli, Maz, Ratna and Ley jer belum besar. We'll be the ones where EVERYONE invite us to their weddings but not get married ourselves... CHOI CHOI CHOIIII ahhh.... Che. Takder... Cuma belum rezeki jer... Haha mak-mak sak bebual.
Anyway, this was what Jila sms-ed me on my birthday. Sila eh.
"Helo Awinggg... Happy 25th birthday!! Just curious. R u back from Bangkok? Dah enjoy dgn mamat Bangkok?? Kita sudah tua tapi blom insaf hor. Tapi best la 25!!"
To which I replied: "Bangkok? Bangkok waklu Bangkok. Bali lah! Isy takder lah. Bila hati kau nak terbuka ni Jila... Cepatlah insaf."
She: "A ah SEY Bali la bukan Bangkok! Hurhur. So sementara tunggu hati terbuka, kita bukakan dada kita dgn luas!"
Jila siao ah Jila.
